In response to last week’s question,  “Can you burn a field down to the ground? ”, my friend Richard observed, “You can, but you have to be outstanding (out standing) in your field to do it.”  My cousin Wes, who lives ‘up the hill’ from Denver recalled, “Of course, farmers do it to clear it. But when our forest service did it, they lost 26 homes and 3 people.”

My neighbor Dick challenged, “Sounds impossible! We always say that things ‘burn up’!”  And my dad’s beach buddy Bob agreed, “You always burn it from the ground up.”

My friend Kosol added, “If you sing "the field the field the field is on fire! We don't need no water let that field burn!" then no one will bring water.”
